Lara R. Domeneghetti
Lara Reisigl Domeneghetti has an extensive education spanning 12 years in the fine arts field. She began her journey as a decorative painter and sculptural woodcarver in Italy in 2007, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Drawing in Germany and a Postgraduate and MA degree in London, UK. During her time in London, she researched Medieval Scandinavian Art and created a 1:1 replica of the Tyldal chair for her final degree. Her research was published in both English and Norwegian.
Lara is regularly invited to participate in lectures and demonstrate her craft at schools and museums both nationally and internationally.
“I am passionate about reviving traditional crafts and highlighting the importance of beauty in everyday life, with a particular focus on stylistic accuracy and research. As a teacher and practitioner, I firmly believe that it is vital for craftspeople and artists to network and build a multidisciplinary community.
I am particularly excited to come and teach at North House Folk School, where I can delve into Medieval Scandinavian Art and explore this mysterious, ritualistic, and powerfully symbolic ornamentation influenced by centuries of European kingdoms and cultures.”
