Whether arm deep in muck, harvesting lotus tubers or blissfully grinding grains and legumes into traditional foods, Ian’s interests center on plants and the many methods of gathering, processing, and cooking them. A lover of history, he has a passion for the place where traditional craft and contemporary sustainability meet. Based out of Duluth, Ian makes his living by harvesting and processing wild, native seeds for use in ecological restoration projects. He has also spent time as a home builder, as a cook, and as a 2019 North House Intern.
