Unplugged: September 25-26, 2026

Unplugged, North House’s signature fall fundraising event, celebrates the mission of the folk school during the best of the fall season.

This year, we’re especially excited to welcome two guest instructors to Unplugged: Eiko Tanaka and Kirsi Manni. Eiko is a Japanese lacquer artist and woodturner based in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Kirsi is a Swedish weaver who specializes in Leksand band weaving.

Family Weekend: October 16-17, 2026

Here in Minnesota, kids get a long weekend in October known to most as “MEA.” Use that school break for a folk school break and come on up for Family Weekend at North House! We’ll have over a dozen kid-friendly classes

Winterers’ Gathering & Arctic Film Festival: November 20-22, 2026

The Winterers’ Gathering & Arctic Film Festival celebrates the crafts, customs, history, and stories that have been inspired by winter. Featuring winter-centric coursework, a winter tent camp, gear sale, film festival, presentations, and more, this is a classic event to welcome the start of the chilliest season. New Coursework
