This two day course focuses on spindle spinning of wool fabric. Instruction will include a brief history of spinning, wool preparation, spinning and the finishing of yarn. Participants will gain experience washing and carding fleece and constructing a simple drop-spindle for the spinning of their yarn. Spinning wheels will also be available for students to try. They will also learn methods of finishing the spun yarn so that it is ready to be knitted or woven.
