Wolves & Other Canids: A Morning of Wildlife Biology with Rolf

Course Overview

Curiosity about the creatures that share the northern forest with us comes naturally to those who love the north. Spend a morning with renowned wildlife biologist Rolf Peterson, an expert on the wolves, moose, coyotes, foxes and other animals of the boreal forest. Rolf is the Featured Speaker at Winterer’s Gathering 2011, and his work will be highlighted in the film Fortunate Wilderness, also part of the Arctic Film Festival. In this intimate seminar setting, Rolf will discuss two areas of research in detail: comparative canid behavior of wolves, coyotes and foxes and wolf-prey interaction in three distinct habitats. This is a unique opportunity to engage with a giant in the field of wildlife studies, and hear his stories of many years spent on the Island. There will be ample time for questions and discussion.
