Soup's On: Spring Volunteer Work Weekend

Course Overview

What’s boat soup? It’s an unusual mixture of linseed oil, pine tar and mineral spirits used to seal and protect wood from inclement weather. The Norwegians invented the mixture for their beautiful boats and buildings. Each spring, it seems like North House has a reason for 'souping a number of shelters, chairs and boats on campus to ensure longevity. A little sweeping, window cleaning, painting, and gardening are just a few of the other activities to choose from. Everyone will work in small teams on a wide range of projects. Please register at least a week ahead so we can order plenty of food. Families are welcome to attend. Volunteers able to participate only during one of the two days are welcome to participate as well. We'll have soup each day for lunch as a group.
