This is a class for collectors of pebbles and other small treasures who want to turn their interesting pieces into jewelry without drilling holes into their stones or pieces. In this four-day class, students will learn the best prong setting for different shapes, from smooth cabochons to irregularly shaped pebbles. Students will learn how to form and solder sterling silver wire in a variety of configurations and sizes to capture pebbles or treasures. Our focus will initially be on learning a variety of prong setting methods and basic soldering skills. We will then have time to turn these pebbles and treasures into wearable art. There will also be an option to fabricate a prong set design in sterling silver to turn North Shore treasures into a beautiful pendant, bracelet, or earrings. All tools will be provided, and sterling silver will be available for purchase at the time of the class. A materials fee of $25-$55 will be payable directly to the instructor at the time of class.

Required Tools 

• A way to tie back longer hair
• Small old hand towel to dry your metal pieces
• Fine black Sharpie pen
• Pen and paper for notetaking
• Closed toe shoes

• Tools will be provided, and sterling silver will be available for purchase at the time of class, but students are welcome to bring their own hand tools.
