Course Overview

Celebrate winter on the North Shore with a wearable tribute to the North House community. Cast on a cozy cowl together, featuring motifs inspired by North House and learn the fundamentals of stranded colorwork (a.k.a. Fair Isle) along the way. This project doubles as a wearable swatch for North House's anniversary sweater pattern. We'll cover chart reading, knitting with two strands, and managing floats and tension, all within a simple tube style cowl with no shaping required.

Prerequisite: intermediate knitting skills. Colorwork experience is helpful but not required.

Materials Fee: $45–$55 (final cost depends on supplier pricing) paid to instructor in class.

Required Tools

  • Circular knitting needles in the gauge size, plus a gauge swatch. Recommended needle size and gauge will be sent at least 6 weeks before class.

Optional Tools

  • Notebook
