Community Classes
Introduction to Felt-Making
Course Overview
Felt is a durable and beautiful fabric that has provided people with hats, boots, bags, rugs, even walls for their homes. It is a simple process of working with wool, water, soap, and agitation and once you understand the basics the sky is the limit. This class will introduce you to all you need to know to begin making your own felt at home.
We will cover tools and materials needed, how to choose wool for projects, and make a handful of samples along the way so you feel confident in your new skills. After the first class you will also have the option to go home with the tools needed to practice making felt in between sessions.
This is a community class meant for Cook County residents. As such, the listed price of this class already has the local discount applied. There will not be an additonal local discount applied.
