Enameling on Silver and Bronze
Course Overview
In the unceasing human quest to add color to the things we use and wear, enameling has been a popular method for more than twelve centuries across many cultures. Using heat to fuse powdered glass to metal can be done on many objects using different methods. In this course, students will enamel small pieces of bronze or sterling jewelry with three to six patterns of their choice. Students will learn the kiln-fired glass enameling process through demonstration and hands-on practice, but other styles including cloisonné will be demonstrated during the class. Note, this is not a metal working course: pieces for enameling will be provided.
