Canoe Trip Tapestry Skill Builder, Level-1: Online Course
Course Overview
Looking for a skill builder after completing Laura's "Introduction to Tapestry Weaving" course with a fun pictorial theme? This project is excellent for students who have completed Level 1, while still being a very enjoyable project for more advanced students as well. Finished dimensions for the woven tapestry are approximately 10x10 inches. The kit makes one finished tapestry.
This class offers great practice for weaving "hills and valleys," "meet and separate," and “soumak” techniques, as well as keeping your sides nice and straight. This project is designed to be made on an 18x18 inch frame loom (the same as in our previous class) and is woven as a single piece that is then mounted on a felt board. Celebrate the joy of canoeing in the beautiful outdoors with this delightful tapestry!
Kit Includes: colorful weft wool (from the instructor’s sheep!), felt mounting board, 4 wooden push pins for mounting, and the full-scale paper cartoon. A PDF photo essay with instructions will also be available for students to augment the learning process.
Prerequisite: Intro to Tapestry Weaving, L-1 or permission from instructor for students having completed another tapestry course.
