Not all boxes need to be square. Learn to turn elegant and beautifully proportioned lidded containers on the lathe. This course will cover both stand alone unique pieces and work towards designing and creating pieces in series, a much more difficult proposition than one might think. Instructor Matt Monaco will emphasize the details that will help turners work towards developing their own individual style. Other skills will include fine tool control, clean cuts with the full range of turning tools, sharpening, and finishwork. This is Matt’s first trip to North House; he teaches nationally and is known for his easy-going, approachable style. Some prior woodturning experience is needed for this course.
