Bookbinding: Side Sewn Notepad and Album Binding
Course Overview
Side-sewn binding is one solution for binding together single sheet pages. Any number of sheets can be bound, and additional sheets can be added or removed even after the book is bound. Using a sewing machine, and a Dremel drill, students will make two versions of side sewn bindings - a laced-together notepad with tear off pages, and a hard cover album with a paper quilt cover. Instructor will provide ample paper scraps for paper quilting, or students may bring paper or cotton scraps that have their own story.
