All About Leaves: Northern Ecology Field Session: Unplugged XI Mini-Course

Course Overview

Leaves are all around us in the northern woods, and are especially breathtaking in the autumn, but what do we really know about them? Join Northern Ecology instructor Ann Russ for a short guided hike in the woods near Grand Marais and explore all things leaf-related. What are leaves for? What’s the science behind the fall colors? Are needles leaves? What makes some leaves curl? What’s with the spotty birch leaves? What are these specks/dots/bumps on the leaves? What are web worms? Come with your questions, learn something new, and escape the hustle and bustle for a few hours while enjoying a taste of our northern landscape curriculum offerings.
