Course Overview

For those who are intrigued with the rhythm and repetition of weaving but not ready to commit to the complexities of the floor loom, the rigid heddle loom offers an accessible place to start learning the warp from the weft and other weaving intricacies. Using rigid heddle looms, students will learn how to choose colors, set up the loom, and weave a textile that will become an heirloom. This course will focus on weft-faced patterns that appear as decoration in many cultures and can result in traditional or contemporary woolen textile pieces that may be used as a wall hanging or table runner. No previous weaving experience is necessary.

Student will purchase materials in class, and should bring a checkbook. Expect to spend $50 or less.
