Weaving Barks with a Positive Bias

Course Overview

A bag made of woven bark will be a statement piece in any room. This fun carry-all pouch explores simple diagonals, the wonders of willow bark, and fun additions of textile material to the process. Instructor Judy Zugish notes, “I first made this as an exhibit piece for New Zealand weavers. Since then, I have enjoyed watching students develop many interpretive versions to suit their needs and taste. I save and prepare my best willow harvests for it." Students are encouraged to bring textiles, buttons and straps to personalize their finished piece. This is a great project for weavers of all levels.
