Fiber Art
Using Free-Form Curves to Create Landscape Quilts
Instructor:
Gwen Westerman
Course Overview
Let’s recreate some of our treasured memories of landscapes and waterscapes with our favorite artform--quilting! We will work with an easy technique for piecing the curves of the land and water using topstitching to create a 40”x 36” quilt top (approximate size). Bring your photos and memories of a special place, along with a poem or song or playlist that inspires you, whether it is the view from your back door or a famous site at a National Park, or a new view of Lake Superior. Students do not need prior experience quilting, but should be proficient using a sewing machine. Students ages 15-17 are welcome to participate with an adult.
