Tackle Box Tank: A Stash-Busting Knitting Retreat

Course Overview

This class is part workshop, part community. Cast on the Tackle Box Tank together and leave with a striped tank on your needles and the skills to finish it. We'll cover flat construction that joins in the round, thoughtful finishes like half brioche columns, selvedge edges, and stripe sequencing. Plus, this pattern comes with a bonus fish pattern that makes this tank unforgettable.

Prerequisite: comfortable knitting and purling.

Required Tools

  • Pattern: Purchase the Tackle Box Tank pattern online before class
  • Yarn: Sport Weight yarn. Amounts vary by size, students will receive exact yardage at least 6 weeks before class. Plan for 1 main color between 1 and 3 contrast colors.
  • Needles: Two circular needle sizes (main and hem), suited to your gauge. For the sample: US 6 / 4 mm and US 5 / 3.75 mm, 32 to 40 inches. DPNs or small circulars work too if you prefer Magic Loop alternatives.
  • Notions:
    • Stitch markers (about 8, plus one unique marker for beginning of round and one removable marker)
    • Smooth scrap yarn or stitch holders
    • Measuring tape, tapestry needle, scissors
    • Highlighter pen or tape (optional)

Note: Bring a finished gauge swatch to class if possible.
