Sámi Inspired Celtic Braid Bracelet Online Class
Course Overview
Get your Irish on! Did you know that tin mined in Ireland made its way over trade routes throughout Scandinavia and was developed into the coiled pewter thread made popular by the Sámi culture in the 16th century? Whether you are a beginner or want to expand your braiding techniques, try your hand at this Irish pattern inspired by the ornate page borders gracing the famous Book of Kells. Deep olive green reindeer hide complements this unique weave, complete with reindeer cord loop and antler button.
This online class will be conducted via Zoom, and though the class will take place from 9 am-3 pm, you won't be staring at the computer that whole time. We'll decide as a class when to take breaks and turn the video screens off to work on our projects individually, coming back together at key moments throughout. *Note: Students will receive kits with all the necessary materials included by mail in advance and are welcome to practice posament knots using the enclosed nylon cord and printed visual directions before the class date.
Session Information
In order for the instructor to have enough time to mail students material kits, registration for this class closes on October 30th.
