Rosemaling: Complete Your Own Project in Any Style

Course Overview

Rosemaling means “rose painting” in Norwegian and is done in many styles reflective of specific regions in Norway. In this course, participants will be able to bring unfinished class projects they wish to complete (from any class, not just a North House class). There will be plenty of one-on-one instruction and guidance provided. Rosemaling experience is required; this is not a beginner course. Note: the materials fee will vary based on what each student needs the instructor to supply, including brush use. Fees are typically $10-20 if you use the instructor's supplies and paint, and will be payable to the instructor during class. Instructor contact information will be included in your registration confirmation email. Brushes will also be available for purchase.

Required Tools

  • Bring your projects and the materials needed to complete them.  We will have basic supplies and oils if you forget or need something.

Optional Tools

  • If you are interested in developing a design for a piece of woodenware you have, bring it or trace it and the instructor can help you design something.
