In this class you will learn the basic “C” and “S” strokes that are the foundations of rosemaling. The Rogaland style of rosemaling, which comes from the Rogaland Valley in Norway, is noted for its symmetrical and vibrant style. Students will learn about the history of rosemaling, the painting styles, and paint a simple plate to take home in oil paint. Class will learn the flowers, scrolls and linework that make this Rogaland style rosemaling so beautiful.

Physical ability note: Mobility required to paint and sit for a period of time.

• If you have rosemaled before, please bring your oil paints or brushes.
• If you are a beginner, we will provide paint and brushes.
