Fiber Art

Nature Writing and Story Arts

Course Overview

A turkey walked across the road. A leaf fell in the forest. So, what’s the big deal? Writing and storytelling can reveal the inspiration and joy found in nature. During this workshop participants explore how to gather and share these stories and their moment-to-moment magic with others. Jon Turk, author of 28 books and dozens of magazine articles, will share the secrets of creative narrative: how to create enduring images out of simple experience. This workshop is geared toward both established writers and novices. If you have a manuscript you are working on, bring it and we will help tweak it toward publication. If you have not written previously, we will explore ways to deepen and enrich a walk in the forest by seeing the landscape through a writer and storyteller’s eyes.
