Making it Personal: Storytelling with Kevin Kling

Course Overview

North House is excited to welcome renowned storyteller Kevin Kling to Unplugged XV as a performer and instructor. When telling a personal story, how do we recall the details hidden in our past? In this workshop we will work with storyteller tools such as creating imagery, working with humor and crafting dialogue. We will also look at other elements that transform an experience into a story, especially "the invitation" where we begin to develop trust and enter into a conversation with our audience. Kevin will break down and analyze some of his own stories and will work with some of your own personal stories. This course will take place at Voyageur Brewing Company, located two blockfs from the North House Folk School campus. Registered students will need to check in at the North House school office/store at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your course and we will provide directions to the brewery.
