Loop-in-Loop Chain Bracelet
Instructor:
Keith Berge
Course Overview
Loop-in-loop chain making is a technique that dates back to approximately 1000 BCE, with artifacts of this construction found at ancient Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman sites. Happily, the skills needed to create these beautiful and durable chains are well within reach of the beginning metalsmith. In this three-day course, students will complete a bracelet of pure silver. This is an excellent project to begin an exploration into the world of metalsmithing, with opportunities to transition to more complex skills and tasks. Students repeating the class will have the option to make a more advanced chain design.
Good eyesight is essential, but reading glasses can do the trick. This course is open to students ages 16+.
