Leather Journal Case

Course Overview

Learn the foundational skills of hand-sewn saddle-stitched leatherwork as you make a small pocket wallet and a beautiful case for a journal. We will discuss construction, surface decoration, basic wet molding, and leather care, and you will leave with a case that will develop a deep, rich color as it protects your deepest thoughts and oldest grocery lists for many years to come. These are sized to fit the popular 5” x 8.25” Moleskine Classic Notebook, which come with ruled, plain, or graph pages, though the journal is not provided. This class requires good hand dexterity, and please bring your reading glasses if you need them.
