Harvest Helpers: Crafting Small Brooms to Accompany Your Basket

Course Overview

Your harvest basket is full, but now what? In this class students will learn to craft a variety of brushes, scrubbers and whisks—either to live in their basket or to use to process their mushrooms, root vegetables and more! Students will use a variety of plant fibers to explore the usefulness of the traditional craft of broommaking. Students will find a new appreciation for the various styles of small brooms, scrubbers and brushes, and will leave prepared to take on further broom-making projects with confidence—not to mention a basketfull of little brooms ready to work! Broom-making requires some hand strength.
