In this immersive knitting class, we’ll knit the Happy Camp Cardigan—a cozy, drop-shoulder cardigan featuring cheerful stranded colorwork and a steeked front opening. Designed as an approachable companion to the Happy Camp Pullover, this sweater keeps the same joyful motif while employing bottom up, drop shoulder, and steeked construction.

Students will work with DK-weight yarn and learn how to manage colorwork in the round, reinforce and cut a steek using a crochet method, and finish a polished cardigan with buttonbands and pockets. We’ll also cover gauge, fit, and practical tips for clean shoulders and sleeves.

This class is ideal for knitters who are comfortable knitting and purling in the round and are curious about steeking in a supportive, hands-on setting. You’ll leave with a solid start on your cardigan, new skills, and the confidence to finish strong at home. We will devote time in class to working with and cutting our swatch. Sweaters will not be finished in this class.

Required Tools

• Students need to bring enough yarn to complete their projects, and a variety of knitting needles in different sizes. Instructor will not have materials available for sale at class. In order to determine how much yarn to buy, students need to purchase the knitting pattern and pick a size:)
• There will be a materials list for this class based on sizing. Instructor will advise students on sizing and purchasing prior to class.
