Course Overview

Throw pillows are an excellent way to use handwoven fabric as an applied textile! In the first two days of class, students will dress floor looms and weave their own colorful wool fabric for two 20x20”  pillow faces. The final day is dedicated to sewing a simple envelope pillow - a great project to practice sewing skills.  Each student will walk away with two finished pillowcases for a 20x20” pillow, and developed confidence in sewing with handwoven fabric.

A few pillow forms will be provided by the instructor for trying out the pillowcases, but students are responsible for finding their own forms for their finished pillows.

Experience in dressing a floor loom is helpful for this class, but beginners are welcome. Ages 16+ may register for this class.

Physical ability notes: Ability to thread a needle, steady hand, and good eyesight is needed for this class
