Course Overview
Discover the artistry of double weave in this immersive 3-day course. By the end of the course, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of double weave principles and a collection of woven samples that showcase your newfound expertise.
Previous beginning weaving experience is required. Students will warp a loom and will create a sample that experiments with several different double weave techniques. After sampling, students will create one or more handwoven drawstring bags utilizing the tubular technique. Perfect for bread bags!
A materials fee of $45-65, depending on material choice, will be payable to the instructor at class time. Students will have the opportunity to select from cotton, cottolin (60% cotton/40% linen) or linen for their materials.
Students ages 16+ may register for this course. Students should be able to sit for long durations and manage the physicality of threading a floor loom.
