Rediscover ancient techniques and combine them with modern expressions and materials in a 2.25 day mosaic class. Learn mosaic techniques including ceramic and glass cutting, use of different adhesives, and grouting. Each student will design and then create a small project for the home or garden. By the end of the class you will have a finished work of art, and will have completed all the steps to feel confident to mosaic almost any project at home. Instructor provides tools and materials although students are welcome to bring any tools and tile that they might like to use. Students who have previously take the class are welcome to attend on a day-to-day basis to work on a project of their own ($65/day).

You will need the following tools for this class:

SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Fabric & Nitrile gloves (found at hardware stores) or disposable gloves
dust mask

CRAFT ITEMS
favorite random tiling objects – marbles, rocks, broken ceramics, dishes, costume jewelry, etc
bases - such as small picture frames, flower pots, plates, small table tops (not big furniture), stepping stones
plastic containers (for organizing tile, etc)
*please bring as much random tile or ceramic pieces as you can collect for yourself and to share with others
