Course Overview

Create your own custom pair of birch skis to meet your personal needs. In this course, students will cover topics such as wood grain, bending wood, bindings, and information related to use and handling of these ancient tools of transportation. Craft your own pair of skis custom-sized to your height, weight, and intended use and prepare to enjoy the wintry wonderland of backcountry and ski trails outside your back door.

A materials fee of $150-$175 (depending on if you choose leather bindings or bring your own) will be payable directly to the instructor while in class. Note, this is not a log to ski course; the instructor will have done some preliminary steps for each student in order for the project to be completed in the allotted time.
