Braided Leather Shoulder Bag and Wallet

Course Overview

In this class, we will make a beautiful leather shoulder bag and wallet assembled using a traditional leather braid on the seams. Kangaroo lacing will be used, ensuring the longevity of the braid. We will then finish with solid brass hardware and discuss leather conditioning.

All pieces will be prepared by the instructor prior to class, so that we can focus on the skills used to assemble the bag. We will go over these preparatory steps as a class, so that you have the knowledge to continue to make beautiful leather creations!

Physical ability note: Significant hand strength needed. Be sure to bring reading glasses if needed as we will be working closely with small holes.

Ages 16+ may register for this class independently. Youth ages 13-15 may register if accompanied by an adult. Adult/child pairs will complete two projects and pay two materials fees. A 25% tuition discount applies to the youth registrant when registering with a full paying adult; call to register.
