Course Overview

Birch bark is a beautiful material, with natural tones of white, grey, brown, yellow and even pink depending on the tree, the harvest, and the layer of the bark. Highlight the variations of the bark (and your fine motor skills) by making a birch bark bead necklace. Students will split bark into its many layers and master the three-fold and four-fold bead pattern by practicing them repeatedly, creating a few dozen beads. We’ll also cover the birch bark cube to add an accent piece to the necklace. Materials fee includes all the components needed for a completed necklace.
