Course Overview

Join in on the camaraderie of Basket Week and make some progress on a project in this open studio format. North House will provide a six-foot table and chair in the Blue Building, a busy campus hub where enrolled students are welcome to bring a project to work on. There will be no formal instruction or tools available, but plenty of coffee, tea, and interesting people to make for a productive three days at North House. Enrolled Open Studio participants are welcome to attend evening gatherings and the Basket Conference Day, Friday, October 4. Note that this space is used for community gatherings in the evenings, and so students may not be able to leave their materials out each day; space for storage will be provided.

Required Tools

  • Everything you need to work on your project: material, cutting tools, clips, fids, etc. There is a small sink and stove available in the classroom and a hose bib outside. This is in a classroom with a wooden floor, so things can be splashed but not soaked. Bring a tarp or floor covering if you think you might need one.
