Course Overview

Are you ready to tackle a more challenging Sami inspired bracelet project? Make a bracelet worthy of a Nordic god! Expand your technical expertise by creating a beautiful multi-braid bracelet using the same tin thread and reindeer leather you've gotten familiar with in previous classes. Students will create a double coiled four weave braid with twisted borders on black reindeer hide. Previous class experience is recommended but not limited to the adventurous of heart. Please note this class will be comprised of 2 sessions.

Required Tools:

Each student will receive a kit in the mail prior to class with the materials needed for this project including a plastic clamp for braiding.

In addition, students will need to have the following assembled on the day of class:

  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape or ruler
  • Rubber cement or Aleene's Tacky Glue (white or clear)
  • Toothpicks (for glue application)

Optional Tools:

  • Extra magnification (cheater classes or other if needed for close work)
  • Thimble (if needed for sewing)
