This spring, North House is redesigning the yurt on campus to accommodate more students and construct a full-sized yurt classroom. This service learning course welcomes the involvement of sustainable living and shelter enthusiasts to help with the construction of a 20' yurt, in exchange for insight into the planning, design and construction details of crafting a durable, weather-proof circular shelter that may help with your own yurt construction project. In this five day session, participants play an active role in supporting the campus rebuilding effort while having a meaningful North House experience that includes hands-on skill development, community building, and catered lunch each day. This learning opportunity has limited spaces available.
