Course Overview

A set of cotton towels adds color and practicality to any kitchen, but when they are handwoven, they become something special. During our class, we will cover the fundamentals of making fabric on a rigid heddle loom: choosing colors, warp and weft calculations, warping the loom, weaving with even tension, finishing techniques, and troubleshooting. Beginners welcome. Some weaving experience is helpful, but not required.

Physical ability note: Warping the rigid heddle loom requires periods of time on your feet and threading the heddle requires some manual dexterity.
