Course
Winter Woodstove Series: Turning on the Lathe
Course Overview
Rooted in the foot-powered treadle lathe of old, the modern electric lathe offers beginning and advanced woodworkers alike the opportunity to create circular forms like bowls with remarkable speed (the ease and grace only come after some practice!). In this three-evening session, turning instructor Jim Sannerud will teach the basics of bowl turning on the lathe, as well as finishing and painting techniques for useable woodenware. Students can expect to complete at least one beautiful wooden bowl. All tools will be provided for student use.
