A new Outdoor Commons deserves a new way to welcome people to North House Folk School! Now that our entrance from Highway 61 has been improved to facilitate easier parking and more foot-traffic across our harbor home, we want to make sure people can find us, with a new, hand-crafted North House Folk School sign. Timbers, carved wood, hand-wrought black-smithed details will all tell the story of North House…and built by our community of students, volunteers, instructors, and you. Join timber-framing instructor Peter Henrickson to build the main components of the sign during the Volunteer and Service Learning Weekend. You’ll learn timber-framing techniques and leave a lasting legacy on campus that will welcome thousands of people for years to come. Your tuition includes lunch each day.
