Course
Unplugged X Mini Course: Wood Carving in the Swedish Tradition
Course Overview
When long-time North House instructor Mike Schelmeske walks through the woods, he sees useful and beautiful things everywhere. He identifies not only spruce, birch, and cedar, but butter paddles, spoons and hooks. Spend an afternoon with Mike, and glimpse the woods through the eyes of a forester and craftsman. Inspired by Swedish slojd traditions (ask us about slojd when you get here), you’ll carve a beautiful and charming coathook for your home. No experience necessary, just a desire to use your hands and see the forest in a new way.
