Join songwriter Sally Barris in a two day exploration of the craft of songwriting. Discover the stories behind songs—how a thought or feeling becomes a lyric with a melody. You’ll learn how to tell a story and convey emotions in a verse/chorus structure. You’ll examine how melody, meter and groove influence the mood of songs. Be prepared to do creative writing and share a new song that you love. Sally will be with you as your “co-writer on demand.” This course welcomes anyone with a song to sing and a story to tell, regardless of level, age or musical style.
