Twig and Pebble Mosaic Tables Online Webinar

Course Overview

The love of gathering beach rocks combines with the craft of twig mosaic in this informative live online webinar. Twig mosaic is an early American folk art form using full or half rounded branches nailed over a frame, creating a geometric pattern that provides volume and intricacy, delicacy and geometry. The addition of Pebble mosaic satisfies all our cravings for form and texture. Instructor Paula Sundet Wolf will work with beach rocks and flat tiles to create a mortared mosaic framed with native brush and tree species, such as red-osier dogwood, willow, and alder to make the visually striking table top. The base of the table and legs will also be constructed using a variety of rustic twig furniture joinery techniques including the woven and entwined method and the nailed stick method. Her demonstration will give you a sense of the steps in the process, tools and materials needed, and inspiration to either try it out on your own, or sign up for the in-person class in the future!

This demonstration will be conducted via a live Zoom webinar, you'll need a computer/tablet/phone to join and a reliable internet connection. There will be time during the demonstration for student questions and Paula will provide materials and equipment recommendations for those who want to get started with mosaics and twig furniture on their own.
