The Norse Pram
Course Overview
The Norse Pram is an inshore craft that has been rowed and sailed along the Norwegian coast for hundreds of years. This craft makes an excellent tender as it has been used in the proving grounds of the North Atlantic. During the course a ten-foot pram will be built using traditional techniques. Participants will learn the Norwegian technique for lapstrake planking with skin construction followed by framing. The method of construction is simple and elegant, without reliance on modern synthetics. Anyone taking this course will gain all the knowledge and ability to readily build another. Excellent introduction to boatbuilding techniques.
