If you’re contemplating a repair project on a wood canvas canoe but would like a little help getting the skills under your belt, we have a perfect opportunity for you! North House has a small Old Town dinghy in need of repair (it’s a good story that you’ll hear on the first day of class!). Under the skilled tutelage of boatbuilder Jeanne Bourquin, students will steam bend and replace cracked ribs, put in new planking, canvas and then fill this sturdy craft so she’s ready to get back on the water. You’ll gain hands-on experience in these skills and take advantage of discussion time to cover your questions about repairs. Students are welcome to bring their own project to survey and make a repair plan on the last day of class.
