Course
Summer Beverages, Starring: Bubbles and Herbs
Course Overview
Join us for a day of exploring the world of creativity in beverage-making. As participants learn several techniques for making drinks, the instructor will weave in herbal wisdom, knowledge, and stories. We will start the journey by learning how to identify common weeds and wild plants, and how to harvest and properly dry herbs for tea-making. With this knowledge, we will make fermented sodas, flower cordials, sun tea, and shrubs, which can be used for mocktails.
The goal of this workshop is for participants to cultivate the confidence to begin to experiment with creating beverages unique to their wants and needs. Students will go home with four to eight different drinks or preparations, as well as recipes and information on how to make them at home.
This workshop will introduce students to basic herbal healing philosophy, knowledge, and wisdom in a practical way. Participants will go away with an introduction to herbal medicine, information about safety, as well as an understanding of sustainable and ethical issues within herbalism.
