Course
Shellback Dinghy: Build Your Own
Course Overview
The Shellback Dinghy, designed by Joel White, is the bigger cousin of the Nutshell Pram. It is a beautiful, functional 11’2” pointed bow boat that will row, sail and perform as a graceful tow-behind tender. This tutorial course, working one-on-one with small craft enthusiast Art Kidd, welcomes you to build your own dinghy with North House’s harborside boatbuilding resources on hand. Appropriate sails and small craft handling techniques are discussed throughout the course and all materials are supplied except for oars, paint and sail. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a partner to help (at no additional cost) as this can be a great family project that will result in a lifetime of memories.
