Boat building students in this course will learn the techniques of taking a two-dimensional drawing based on traditional lofting practices and making 3-dimensional molds that the boat will be built on. This step in the boat building process requires precision and directly determines the outcome of the hull shape. Students will also cover the essential tools for a well supplied boat building shop (whether it be the tarp in the backyard or a wood shop equipped with ventilation) and what is required for setting up for an extended boat building project.
