Course Overview
Spring is the time of harvest for the red-osier dogwood, highly prized for its glowing burgundy-red branches. A harvest filed trip introduces you to the sustainable harvest of red-osier basketry materials and you weave a melon-style basket to develop your skills, then learn techniques for the woven flat-bottomed basket. Birch bark and other native basketry materials may also be woven into the basket.
