Always been curious about timber-framing? This ancient and beautiful style of building is a hallmark of the North House campus. In this mini-course, you’ll learn the basics by touring several timber-framed buildings, trying your hand at ancient and modern timber-framing tools, and raising an actual frame. Working with a group of students, you’ll raise North House’s Teaching Frame, a small timber frame designed to teach the basics of mortise and tenon joinery, and allow first-hand experience in the joy of a community working together.
