Rag rug making is a centuries old craft with unlimited opportunities for experimentation and self-expression. The tactile quality of simple loom weaving is particularly aesthetic and creative. In this class, the happy weavers will warp a loom provided for them, prepare a variety of “rag” scrap fabrics for a custom weaving experience, and work on a beautiful and functional (washable and indestructible) 18” x 28” rug. The objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and materials to confidently leave the classroom and create future rugs using this technique.
